Have a longing for the quiet roads and vintage travel of the past? Then try an organised vintage bike ride around London’s historic areas. A vintage bicycle ride around such historic places as Hampton Court Palace bursts with an added anticipation of a style of English heritage from the past.
Meet your bike group and continue to embrace the wind in your hair as you travel along the River Thames. Take in riverside life and lap up the freedom a vintage bike ride provides. Away from traffic, in the peace and quiet of the rural area, enjoy arriving at the palace like Royalty. You can enjoy a vintage bicycle ride through royal parks where deer were hunted and Eisenhower had his World War II base.
Hampton Court Palace, located on the banks of the River Thames, was the magnificent home of Henry VIII and what better way to explore the area than with a vintage bicycle ride. Starting at Hampton Court train station, the bicycle ride is only 8 miles and passes through Royal Parks and into the grounds of Hampton Court Palace. Here you can leave your bikes to be taken care of by ourselves and enjoy the rest of your day at leisure – exploring the famous palace and gardens.

Each bike comes with a bell and optional basket which is perfect for resting your coat or keeping your camera close to hand. All of our bikes are single gear, highlighting just how flat and relaxing our routes are. The route is +90% traffic-free, but we do cycle on a road for around 1000m, so some cycling confidence is recommended for this route. If we get a puncture en-route, sit back and let us worry about that. The tours are designed to complement a half-day visit to Hampton Court Palace either in morning or afternoon. Please check the Historic Royal Palaces website for opening hours & seasonal closures. We do stop at a local pub where you can purchase refreshments at your own expense. Please note the legal drinking age for alcohol in the UK is 18 years.
